چکیده

Abstract This paper presents a study of viscous torsional vibration damper for crankshaft four-stroke diesel engine. The reliable operation widely used silicone-type depends on the ability silicone oil to absorb energy vibrations. non-Newtonian shear flow interlayer, characterised by reduction in shear-rate-dependent viscosity and moment drag forces, negatively affects damping characteristics. A damper, filled with shear-thickening fluid, was considered rheological approach, based growth rate increase, applied. For such larger velocity gradients correspond higher values force, which decreases vibration. parameter effectiveness (defined fluid index, gaps, amplitude frequency) implemented. It has been established that efficiency dilatant does not depend dimensions gaps significantly increases when is instead or Newtonian fluid. At becomes distinct, vibrations are damped more effectively. Critical amplitudes at high-velocity gradients, turn, increase effect as forces index power-law related.

Investigation of Torsional Vibration Characteristics of Marine Diesel Engine Crankshaft System

Evaluation of the torsional vibration characteristics of a crankshaft system is indispensable to the development of marine diesel engines. It influences the selection or decision about shafting components such as the flywheel, torsional damper, generator and even modification of the crankshaft itself. In this paper, experimental and analytical investigations of torsional vibration were carried ...

Failure Analysis of a Four Cylinder Diesel Engine Crankshaft Made From Nodular Cast Iron

The premature breakage in some four cylinder diesel engine crankshafts was reported. All crankshafts were failed from the same region. Failures had occurred in the first crankpin, the nearest crankpin to the flywheel. Dynamic analysis and finite element modelling were carried out to determine the state of stress in the crankshaft. FEM results revealed that the first crankpin fillet is the most ...

Multi-Body Dynamics Analysis of V-Type Diesel Engine Crankshaft

Based on the V-type diesel engine crankshaft system, the paper combined the finite element method (fem) and multi-body dynamics method together, made a virtual simulation analysis. First, by 3d software and finite element software to establish the multi-body dynamic models of the crankshaft, bearing and piston, then simulated the actual engine working condition, and got the data such as cranksh...

Fatigue Analysis and Optimization of Crankshaft of V8 Diesel Engine

The crankshaft is one of the most critically loaded components as it experiences cyclic loads in the form of bending and torsion during its service life. Its failure will cause serious damage to the engine so it’s important at the time of design to verify fatigue strength. More challenges in crankshaft design due to increasing vehicle payloads, lower weight requirement, higher efficiency and lo...
